Every year IEEE mumbai section organises a job fair for IEEE members.
mostly the venue is SPIT (Bhavans campus, Andheri)
Even if you are not an IEEE member this post might be of your interest as the job fair is also open to passed out IEEE members who still hold the membership as well as those who are not IEEE members but can register for membership on the spot and become eligible to participate in the job fair.
Those who possess IEEE membership need to produce their valid IEEE id card at the venue else they will be treated as non-members. In that case you need to pay the applicable membership fees and become eligible for the fair. Further, if you produce your lost/forgotten ieee id card before April 30th to them, your payment will be refunded.
Membership Fees applicable at the venue: Rs. 1000 for students.
Rs. 3500 for passed out fresh graduates.
If you are an IEEE member who is either a final year student or a fresh passout with active and valid membership, you are eligible to attend with zero fees but IEEE membeship card is mandatory.
This years Job fair will be on Saturday 26th March 2011 . venue, participating company names and other details will be posted here when things are confirmed. Watch this blog for updates on this fair.
Also it should be noted that the fair provides only a platform. Criteria and test/interviews stages vary from company to company and no relaxation with respect to these is provided in the IEEE job fair as IEEE doesnt interfere with company policies. participating job seekers can choose or ignore a company as per their wish & eligibility.
Going by prior experiences companies normally have a 60% aggregate criteria but all this can be confirmed at the venue only.
u r expected to have several copies(more than 10) of ur resume at the fair.
